Tom Pursglove is warmly congratulated for his superb win following an intensive 2 year campaign. He has made this seat into a natural Conservative one and has assured everyone that he will now begin to carry out his duties on behalf of all constituents to the best of his ability. He hopes to build on this success and increase the Conservative majority in future elections. He and his team have turned a 9,000 Labour majority into a 2,400 Conservative majority - no mean feat.
The Labour Party admitted that they were caught on the hop in this campaign and believed right up to the final count that they would hold onto the seat.
Tom would like to thank his dedicated team of canvassers, deliverers, envelope stuffers, telling agents, counting agents, office staff and miscellaneous other helpers for all their hard work which made this win possible. He would also like to acknowledge the tremendous input made by his professional colleagues from Parliament.
