The most recent meeting of the CPF was held on Wednesday 20th February 2013. The meeting was at Corby Conservative Club, Cottingham Road, Corby, NN17 1SZ. The subject for this meeting was "Europe". A report will appear in the next issue of 'Political Life'. Any member interested in attending future meetings should contact the Association Office on 01536 200255 or email at [email protected] for a copy of the agenda and subject notes.
To encourage wider participation I have decided to experiment by holding the next meeting of the CPF on Wednesday 27 March at 7.30 pm in the Conservative Club in Raunds. The subject is 'Further and Higher Education' and reports giving background and reference material on the subject can be obtained by ringing up Ann at the Conservative Office in Corby on 01536 200250.. I hope you will be able to come, perhaps accompanied by a colleague. The subject is very important to parents whose children are contemplating higher education in the next few years and to others who perhaps like me wonder about who should pay for higher education. I am trying to encourage lecturers/administrators in higher education join in the discussion and would, of course, warmly welcome any such qualified friends you may have. Theydo not have to be members of the Association. The discussions we hold at the CPF meetings are as informal as clarity of expression and efficiency will allow and the tone befits Conservatives working and co-operating together. I do hope you will be able to come. Ray Jackson (CPF Chairman)
